Sri Lanka International Buddhist Academy (SIBA Campus) is a non-state higher educational institute established in 2009 with the blessings of the prelates of Asgiriya and Malwaththa chapters. The incumbent Diyawadana Nialame of Sri Dalada Maligawa, pioneered the setting of this institute.
This is an English Medium co-educational Institute currently facilitates higher education for 1837 local and foreign students. Approximately 4000 external students follow certificate and advanced certificate courses in IT and English. We do offer seven UGC accredited degree programs, and PhD and Master’s degree programmes in affiliation with Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), Thailand.
SIBA has a good team of academics and administrators. Our academics actively engage in research in Pali Studies, Buddhist Studies, Humanities, Social Sciences, Information Technology, Management Studies and Performing Arts. As a campus, we currently publish journals namely, the “SIJBS” in Buddhist Studies and the “Iris” a creative writing journal.
Since 2013, 5800 graduated in disciplines indicated above including PhD’s, Master’s and Diplomates. As the medium of instruction is English our products have had no obstacles in finding employment both in private and government sectors.
SIBA has several local and international affiliations. International Association of Universities (IAU) and Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) have listed SIBA as a member.
Our aim is to provide an education to suit the 21st century learning. We invite all categories of local and foreign students, eligible to receive higher education, to taste the beauty and eco-friendly environment of a 26-acre land where the campus is located in Kandy.
